A US exchange that already left
Sporttrade was a real US sports-trading venue: a central limit order book for listed contracts, licensed state by state. We keep the page so nobody treats a dead desk as a live one.
How it works
While it was live, Sporttrade sold itself as a marketplace, not a sportsbook: participants bought and sold listed contracts on a central limit order book. Winning outcomes settled toward the top of the contract range; losing ones toward zero.
It operated as a state-licensed online sports product in a short list of US states (public reporting named Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, New Jersey and Virginia). That is a different map from a CFTC-nationwide prediction market.
Commission, dated
As of Product closed
There is no current consumer fee table to review. The venue is closed. Do not use an old screenshot as a live rate.
When the product was open, the economic model was exchange-style: the venue matched buyers and sellers of contracts rather than booking every ticket as a sportsbook.
We are not reprinting historical promotions or refund offers. Those pages are gone with the market.
If you still have a balance question, that is a matter for Sporttrade’s own closure notice — not for this magazine.
Liquidity and geography
None. The book is shut.
While it ran, liquidity was a function of those five state licences plus market-makers — never a UK-style Saturday book.
If you are looking for a live US exchange-style sports venue in September 2026, look at ProphetX or Novig and then confirm their own maps. Do not open Sporttrade expecting a ticket.
Who it is for
Nobody, as a place to put a new stake.
Readers who heard the name and need a dated answer: it was a real exchange-style US desk, and it has left the market.
Not a recommendation, and not a resurrection rumour.
Comparison only
Keep Sporttrade in the US column only as history. Comparing a closed CLOB to a live CFTC venue is how people send money to the wrong URL.
State-licensed exchange sportsbooks and federal prediction markets are not the same licence. Sporttrade lived in the first world.
If another site still lists Sporttrade as open, their page is stale.
We do not run an exchange, hold funds, or take a cut from Sporttrade. If their screen, fee table, or licence page disagrees with a sentence here, their screen is right. No bonuses. No “claim” button.
